From  Joseph Amedu,  Lokoja

Turaki

The presidential aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),  Kabiru Tainimu Turaki (SAN) has said that the incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has failed to live up to his promise in tackling the lingering problem of insecurity, corruption and poverty ravaging the nation.

He therefore “called on Nigerians of goodwill to join forces with the PDP to vote out APC led administration come 2019 general elections in order to save the nation from poverty, deprivation and senseless killings going on across the country .”

Turaki, who was a minister of Special Duties, Labour and Productivity under past administration made the call during his campaign visit to Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

He said insecurity of lives and property that is going on unabated under the present government of President Muhammadu Buhari has made it imperative for men and women of good will to vote for the candidate of the PDP in the 2019 general elections to save the country from total collapse.

The aspirant decried the spate of mass killings of innocent Nigerians by bandits, killer herders, Boko Haram and associated criminals, saying three year in the saddle, the “Buhari administration was only dishing out harassment and intimidation on the  opposition members to cover their incompetence.”

He lamented at the government’s action for deploying over thirty thousand policemen (30000)  for  Ekiti election, but chose to send paltry  one thousand soldiers (1000) to troubles states of the Northwest and North central saying the government lacked capacity to deal with insecurity in the Country.

According to him” Nigeria used to compete with the Asian Tiger countries . Unfortunately with this government, without a defined economic roadmap has pauperized the people. The middle class has been wiped out. What we have as a nation is a collapsed economy.

” They told us they are fighting corruption, but they are only doing selective justice. At the moment you cross over to APC your sins are forgiven, but PDP members are being labeled as corrupt and thieves.

” Hardships has thrown up agitation for separatism across the country. There is so much suspicion among the people. People are being killed in Benue, Taraba , Plateau, Zamfara; Katsina,  in fact everywhere is not safe. We need to take our destiny in our hands and that is why am offering myself for the presidency to rescue Nigeria from total collapse

While appealing “to men of good conscience to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari,”, he said all the PDP aspirants has agreed to work for the eventual candidate of the party.
