SSG Lawal, Makes U-Turn, Begs Senate To Fix Another Date

Hours after he went to court to try and secure an injunction that would arm him against appearing in the Senate to face the upper chamber’s Ad Hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North-East, Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr Babachir Lawal, has eaten his words and asked the Senate to fix another date for his appearance.

In a letter dated March 22, 2017, Lawal asked the panel to excused him because the date fixed for his appearance, Thursday, clashed with his official engagement. He therefore appealed to the panel to fix a convenient date.

He is being probed for alleged management of funds meant for the rehabilitation of the Northeast, devastated by Boko Haram insurgency.
