Liverpool was expected to win their match with Arsenal at Anfield but not with the humiliating goal margin of 5-1. But that was what terrific striker Firmino, whose hat trick and two other goals from Mane and Salah got the Reds to extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to an imposing nine points.

Surprisingly, Arsenal opened scoring in the 11th minute when Ainsley Maitland-Niles connected Alex Iwobi’s cross into the net. But they soon went to sleep and allowed Liverpool to run riot and devastate them.

Wolves whip Spurs 3-1 in the last 18 minutes of the game

In another predictable encounter between Tottenham and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Wembley, it was the newcomers to the Premier League that won the day with a shocking 3-1 defeat, thereby ending Spurs unbeaten league run to 20 games.

Cardiff goalkeeper Etheridge saved Leicester Maddison’s penalty to end the match at 1- 0 in favour of the visitors.
