Saraki Promises Massive Industrialization

The President of Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has promised to give  priority to industrialization and  ensure that Nigeria becomes producing nation as against the status of consumers as we are today  if elected president of the country come   2019 general elections.

Saraki also gave an assurance that if elected president of Nigeria he will ensure the immediate revival of the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Complex.

Dr. Saraki  who gave the promise while speaking in a chat with journalists at  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP )Secretariat in Lokoja after addressing  the party delegates on Monday , stated that no nation can make meaningful  progress without industrialization .

The Senate President explained that if given the mandate to be the president of Nigeria , his administration will revive the Steel industry and make Ajaokuta a priority to make Nigeria an industrial hub of West Africa.

Saraki pointed out that the revival of Ajaokuta Steel Company will create employment opportunities to the teeming youths and other professionals and remove boys from street.

Saraki recalled that when he was the Special Adviser on Budget, he was part of those who formulate the policy that we should stop importation of cement , stressing that he was happy to see the realization of  Obajana Cement Company today   which stands to be the biggest in Africa.

He noted that this  exactly is what his administration will do to put  Ajaokuta Steel Company in the right footing as part of his  determination to kick start industrialization in the country.

The Senate President stated that he is contesting for President to eradicate poverty in the land.

He emphasized that his administration  will  as well ensure the creation of jobs to move youths out  the streets.
