Ramadan: Saraki, Atiku, APC, Hope Party, Felicitate With Muslim Faithful

The Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, former Vice-President, Atiku Abukakar, the All Progressives Congress and Hope Democratic Party, have expressed felicitations with muslims in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The APC said it is a period which provides Muslim Ummah an opportunity to renew their faith in Almighty Allah through worship and adherence to teachings of the Holy Quran.

“As we enter the Holy month of Ramadan, a time for fasting, piety, introspection, discipline and humanity, the APC wishes all Muslim Faithful a Ramadan filled with peace, goodness and blessings. May the Holy month inspire generosity among us.

The Party also urges Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to use the period to pray for continuous unity, peace, prosperity and general well-being of our dear country.

Saraki in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja, also urged the entire Muslim Ummah to use the period to pray for continuous unity and peaceful coexistence in the country.

He noted that, “the commencement of fasting has yet provided us with rare and unique opportunity to fervently pray over the security situation of the country and call on Allah to help us restore sanity and love among our country men and women.

“Nigerians, Muslims in particular, should make use of this opportunity to pray for the end of insecurity and other violent crimes threatening our existence both as a people and nation.”

He noted that Ramadan is a unique and special period for Muslims around the world to renew their faith in the Almighty Allah, deepen their worship and practicalize the injunctions of the Holy Quran in their daily lives.

Abubakar has called on them to use the fasting period to pray for the unity of the country.

According to a press statement personally signed by the former Vice President, “the Ramadan period is about recompense, piety and separation from sin; we must therefore be ready to offer sacrifice of prayer and worship to Almighty Allah who has made Ramadan a blessing for us.

He said the holy month of Ramadan provides every Muslim a unique opportunity to reflect on their past with a view to seeking forgiveness from Allah (SWT).

“The 30 days of fasting”, he said, “should be dedicated to moving closer to Almighty Allah.  We all have a responsibility by praying for the progress and economic recovery of the nation”

“As a Muslim, I believe so much in prayers, especially the ones offered during Ramadan because this is a period of purification, when a Muslim is expected to, more than before, show piety in all areas of life.

“So, any prayer offered at such period is always acceptable as the Almighty Allah is merciful and benevolent.”

While wishing all Nigerian Muslims a fruitful Ramadan, Atiku appealed to them to imbibe honesty, love and peace during the period and beyond.
