Railway station: No Hand sanitizer, Facemask No Boarding, Say Minister Amaechi

Minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has urged intending travellers, particularly those travelling for Sallah to come to the railway station with facemask and hand sanitiser before they would be allowed to board.

Speaking at the weekly briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Monday, where he underlined the seriousness of the corona Virus pandemic alongside other members of the PTF as the infection figures continue to surge, he said he would be at the Abuja station office till noon with the police to enforce the guideline.

“Do not come with face mouth as some persons do wearing their mask but face mask, do not come with face shield alone, your hand sanitizer must be the one that is at least 79 per cent alcohol, spirit based. I will at the station till noon to monitor compliance, he said, adding, ‘We will bring the police for enforcement. Police will be inside the trains to stop the train and remove you if you do not obeying the health protocols.”

Amaechi said he was being strict with the health protocols on COVID-19, “because life is more important than anything else.”
