Five kidnap suspects have reached the end of the road as a reprisal attack by the Police led them to their early grave in Ogun State.

The suspects were said to have ambushed a police Corporal on Siun-Ogere Road last Friday and abducted him.The abducted police corporal, Stephen Adesokan, was on his way to Abeokuta en route Siun- Ogere Road in the state on the fateful day when he ran into his abductors.

Subsequently, his abductors were said to have put a call across to their victim’s family members and made a demand of N10 million as ransom, unknown to them that their days were numbered.

It was gathered that the state’s Police Commissioner, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, who saw the kidnap as the height of affront on the police, gave a marching order to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Owode-Egba Division, CSP Sheu Alao, as well as other special units comprising FSARS and Anti Kidnapping/Cultist Section of the police to go after the hoodlums and ensure they were brought to book.

In compliance with the CP’s order, crack detectives swung into action and their efforts paid off.

On sighting the men, the kidnappers were said to have engaged them in a gun battle, which lasted for about an hour, but they paid for their heinous crime with their respective lives, having bowed to the superior firepower of men of the Ogun State Police

At the end of the encounter, five of the six-man syndicate were shot dead while one escaped with bullet wounds. Police Corporal Adesokan was rescued unhurt.

Recovered from the kidnap suspects were four single barrel guns, assorted charms and weeds suspected to be Indian hemps.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has commended the gallantry display of his men, even as he reiterated his earlier warnings to criminals to relocate, as the state would be a too hot for them.
