NUJ Appeals To Bello Over Salary Arrears of Late Journalist

The Chairman of the Kogi state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, ( NUJ), Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh has called on Governor  Yahaya Bello to urgently pay salary arrears of late journalist, Nathaniel Idrisu to ameliorate the hardship faced  by the immediate family.

Late Nathaniel Idrisu , a Chief Correspondent with the state owned Graphic newspaper  who died  on August,10 2018 and  was buried Tuesday left behind an aged mother, wife and three children.

The chairman stated that the appeal to the governor to urgently pay the accumulated salary arrears and consolidated benefits  to the deceased journalist’s family became necessary to cushion the effect of the sudden death of their breadwinner.

He advised working Journalists in the state and friends of the deceased not to abandon the family he left behind, saying that financial and moral support for the family is a demonstration of love for the fallen colleague.

The chairman noted that death being a necessary end would come when it will come and urged Journalists to take his demise as an act of God.

He assured the family that the state council will be willing at all times to do her best for the family.
