The newly sworn-in Chairman of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Staff Cooperative Investments and Thrift Society, Kaduna State Command, ASC Sunday Haruna, has promised to embark on income generating activities to further meet the welfare of members.
Haruna made the pledge at the state Headquarters on behalf of nine others after taking oath of office administered on them by the Command’s Head of Legal Unit, SC Yayaji Jauro.
He said, “We shall embark on income generating activities that will not only promote the welfare of our members but also ensure we are able to meet up with the loan demands of cooperators.”
He added, “we shall put in all our ideas and potentials to ensure that we improve the standard of living of all members of the cooperative.”
Haruna assured members that by the end of their tenure, they would take the Cooperative society a step higher than they inherited it.
While commending the sportsmanship of their contestants, Haruna urged them and other cooperators to support his administration in achieving the set goals.
Speaking earlier, State Commandant, Nuraddeen Abdullahi, who doubles as Patron of the cooperative, urged the exco to consider their election as a proof of confidence in them.
The Commandant warned them not to disappoint those who trusted them resulting in their election, tasking them on honesty, justice, transparency and accountability in their affairs.
Those to lead the cooperative in the next two years include Haruna Sunday who was inaugurated as Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Adegbe as Vice Chairman.
Others are: Waje Barnabas as Secretary General; Amos Dauda, Assistant Secretary; Haruna Ese, Treasurer; Caleb Bakano, Financial Secretary; Rahila Joshua, PRO; Danjuma Saidu, Chief Whip; Titus Hassan, Internal Auditor and Abdulganiyu Okino, Legal Adviser.
