Mwagawul Youths Deny Endorsing PDP D/ Governorship Candidate

Youths from Mwagawul local government area in Plateau State on Tuesday denied endorsing the People Democratic Party, PDP, deputy governorship candidate  Dr James Dalop as their consensus candidate

Spokesman of the youths, who staged a protest to register their anger, Abdulrahman Mohammed, said in an interview during the protest that there is no vacancy in government house.

The youths who came out in their numbers caused traffic gridlock on the main road linking the state capital with the southern part of the state.

The youths, many whom were party supporters of the APC posters carried brooms, the symbol of the party, and took over the highway, shouting “eight, eight ,eight”, meaning the incumbent Governor, Simon Lalong must serve eight years.

Some of the youth told our correspondent that the do not have anything to do with the choice of Dr James Dalop as the Deputy Governor of PDP, so they demonstrating their displeasure to the opposition party.

Police were seen controlling the situation by asking the protesters to remain calm, obviously to prevent further breakdown of law and order and prevent clashes with the PDP supporters who were still exiting the campaign flag off venue at Mangu in Mangu Local Government.
