Staff of Plateau State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, have eulogised the out going Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Daiyyabu Garga for his exemplary style of humility, transparency and determination to success .
Alh Daiyyabu Garga received the commendation on the occasion of his official handing over notes held at the ministry headquarters in Jos, the state capital.
The staff said Garga has been grass root development in the state and they called on the governor to reconsider him worthy to be reinstated to service in the ministry, or any ministry to add value to then state affairs.
The staff of the ministry, through the management staff, lead by the Permanent Secretary, James Yilna’an, made this position known during the official handing over of the affairs of the ministry to the next senior officers in the ministry.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong had dissolved the state executive council on February 8 and ordered the commissioners to hand over the affairs with immediate effect.
The ministry seems to be the last to adhere to the directives but Garga said it was not act of disrespect, but due to ill health which took him out of the state even before the dissolution was pronounced.
He called on the staff of the ministry to shelve all forms of differences, irrespective of political or religious affiliations and support the government to deliver to the people, the dividends of democracy and to a large extend, the ‘Plateau project.’
He said, for him, he has shared no grouse with any body while serving the state as the commissioners and called of the staff to reach out to him any time they require his advise to move the ministry and the forward.
