Fellani in one of his dangerous moments with his trade mark header

Celtic vs PSG:  This was one of the most predictable games in the tournament today as Neymar opened scoring in the 11th, followed by on loan Mbappe from Monaco in the 34 th minute and Cavani in the 40 th with a penalty for PSG. Thus in the first half. PSG was leading with 3-0. Cavani added another in the 85th and Lusting’s own goal made it 5-0

These two have met once before. Back in 1995, PSG ran out 4-0 aggregate winners in the Cup-Winners’ Cup.

Following a 1-0 defeat in Paris, Celtic fans must have fancied their chances, but striker Patrice Loko ran the home defence ragged in the return leg, scoring twice.

That team also included Youri Djorkaeff, Rai and former Rangers manager Paul Le Guen and went on to win the tournament that season. It remains PSG’s only major European trophy. Celtic have never won their opening group stage match and PSG have never lost in Scotland

Neymar with the opening goal in the 11th minute

Bayern M vs Andeletch: The German champions Bayern Munich have the crucial second goal against the 10 men of Anderlecht, with Thiago Alcantara doing the damage, Lawandoski scored in a penalty in the 12th minute and Kimmisch in the 65th minutes ended it 3-0 for the home side

Zappacosta scores for Chelsea

Chelsea vs Qarabag. With goals fro Pedro, Zappacosta, Azpilicueta, Bakayoko, Batshuayi , twice Chelsea which was missing in action last year announced their return with a trouncing of   the visitors 5-0 at Stampford Bridge. The interesting game, stood at 2-0 at half time with Pedro opening score at 5th minute followed by Azpilicueta in the 30th minute

Qarabag are the first Azerbaijani team to reach the Champions League group stages. Their only other appearance was in the Europa League in 2015-16 when they faced and lost to Tottenham at home and away, 3-1 and 1-0 in Baku. Chelsea has won the title before but they did not paly last year at all.

Man U vs Basel: Before the kick-off, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho expressed worry that he “feels weaker”without Maroune Fellani even though opinion is divided about his function in the team. But he was proved right as the man who had missed Saturday’s 2-2- draw with Stokes in the EPL, opened the score sheet for the Red Devils in the 35th minute in the first half. Danger man Romalu Lukaku made it two in the 53 minute and Rashford in the 84th minute giving Man U a big win against Basel who had given Man U a headache in their past games mostly at Old Trafford. It ended 3-0

This will be the fifth game between Manchester Utd and Basel, all in the Champions League. Before now, the record iwas perfectly balanced with one win each and two draws.

Basel are unbeaten against Manchester Utd at Old Trafford, having drawn in their two previous trips (1-1 in March 2003, 3-3 in September 2011). Manchester United are playing in the Champions League for the first time since 2015 after winning the Europa League last season.

Barcelona vs Juventus: With the exit of Neymar from Barcelona, bookmakers were not sure if the Spanish giants could hold Juventus even in Nou Camp, especially when last year’s result ended in favor of the visitors with a 3-0 finish in the two encounters. But Barcelona made good their boast for revenge by slamming Juve 3-0 in reply to their last year’s de feat by the same margin in Italy. Fifth time world best player Lionel Messi slotted in two goals year in the 45th and 69th minutes and Rakitic 56th , Barca were done. Indeed Messi wrote his name in gold by scoring against Buffon at last and did it fantastically with two solid goals! Given that Barcelona have won only one of their past six competitive games against Juventus – it came in the 2015 Champions League final (3-1), Barca looks good to head the table and proceed without any fears.

Olympiaokos Vs Sporting Lisbon. What a game! Olympiakos joined Benfica and Celtic as the three teams in today’s series to loose at home, 3-2.

Roma vs Atletico Madrid: Interesting but ended goaless

Benfica vs CSKA Moscow: The visitors proved too good for the host by thrashing them 2-1
