The Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasak Fadipe, on Tuesday said they recovered a body from a petrol tanker on Monday in the state.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday that an unidentified man, who attempted to steal petrol inside a stationary tanker, was suffocated by the fumes and died.
“The tanker was parked opposite Morogbo Police Station, along the Badagry Expressway. The dead man was removed at about 5pm on Monday and was handed over to Morogbo police men,” he said.
