LG Poll: APC, PDP Pledge to Accept Final Results

Chairmanship candidates of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state in the February Local Government  poll, have promised to accept the final results for the sake of peaceful coexistence in the area.

They eulogised the Berom people for remaining committed to the promotion of their cultural heritage in the state and urged them to continue to use any chance to improve and sustain it.

Speaking on separate interviews with our correspondent in Plateau state at the weekend, both candidates expressed confidence in the people of Berom to make the right choice in the poll and take the outcome.

The APC Chairmanship candidate is Alh Usman Bala Shehu while his PDP counterpart is Hon. Aminu Izang. Both have made peace the focus of their aims and objectives if voted into office.

Shehu solicited the cooperation of the Berom towards a successful conduct of the poll for the unity and progress of the state, stressing that peace remains cardinal in the development of any developed nation.

He charged the  state citizens to foster unity and understanding among themselves so as to encourage “us to leave a purposeful life under God and love to humanity.”

Bala reiterated the need to sustain peace in Jos North LGA if elected as Chairman, to maintain and rehabilitate existing structures and empower the youths through the provision of good education.

Izang said if elected he will consolidate on sustaining peace especially in Jos the capital city that have been bedevilled with crisis in the past .

He stressed further that all the moribund industries will be restored to address the challenges of development of the LG.
