The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the premier Chamber of Commerce and a leading voice in the organised private sector (OPS) in Nigeria, has concluded plans to honor excellence in business at its 2017 Commerce & Industry Awards slated to hold on Saturday, July 29 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year’s edition will be unique, with the introduction of an Award Icon, the ‘Manilla’ in commemoration of an ornament that was later adopted as local trade currency in the 16th century as means of exchange in Lagos and other coastal areas in West Africa.
Muda Yusuf, Director General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: “the objective of the annual awards is to recognize, celebrate and promote private and public institutions who have exhibited the core values of best business practices, growth through innovations, business sustainability and have positively impacted the society.”
He added that “the LCCI Commerce and Industry Awards prides itself as a credible platform where winners emerge through a painstaking selection process from hundreds of entries supported by robust research and market intelligence.
“Some of the awards categories to be won at the prestigious event include: Award for Excellence in diverse sectors of the economy such as Banking, Insurance, Health Care, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Aviation, Pharmaceuticals, Education, Media among others.”
