The Lagos State government has moved with swiftness to clamp down on a semi-nude advert on moving truck that residents have decried on social media for its offensive pornographic contents.

The moving truck sited around the Lekki/Ikoyi yoll gate shows nude and semi-nude ladies staging lurid postures on the outdoor mobile advertising truck with registration number APP713 XL.

In a statement by Mr Mobolaji Sanusi, MD/CEO of the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), “the queer display of semi-nude women in an outdoor Mobile advertising truck around the Lekki/Ikoyi toll gate,” is a blatant “display of crass immorality”

He said: “While the agency is working on ascertaining the status of the truck with Lagos State plate number. APP713XL, we wish to state, without equivocation that, no outdoor mobile advert truck within the jurisdiction of our dear state is licensed to display such crass immorality of the calibre that the owner(s) of this truck exhibited on our roads over the weekend.

“The government of Lagos State, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, has zero tolerance for any slightest attempt by anyone, under any guise, to debase the moral fabric of our dear state. Nobody can hide under the guise of engaging in outdoor advertising business to display obscenity that is antithetical to our cherished cultural and moral values.

He vowed that “the full weight of the law, as enshrined in the Agency’s extant law, will be meted on the company owning this erring outdoor mobile truck,” and assured the public that “the Agency shall henceforth scrutinize activities of mobile trucks to forestall a recurrence of such an avoidable obscenity.”

Abd the full weight of the law was brought to bear when LASAA identified the company. It said the offending company is Provision Media System Limited, suspending it immediately.

“The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency has suspended, pending final investigation, the practicing Licence of an advertising firm, Provision Media System Limited, over indecent advertisement around the Lekki/Ikoyi toll gate,” Sanusi said, adding that the suspension would subsist until the completion of the investigation.
