Kogi Govt Donates Medical Consumables, Equipment To Tackle Coronavirus

The Kogi state Government in collaboration with the American Donor Agencies(Triple A-Plus, and Gillead Quantum Healthcare Systems) has donated over $1Million Dollars worth of medical consumables and equipment for immediate distribution to hospitals and healthcare centres across the state to tackle Coronavirus Pandemic ravaging the world over.

The geasture is part of measures put in place by the state government to combat the outbreak and spread of the novel corona virus (COVID-19) in Kogi state.

Governor Yahaya Bello while briefing journalists on the development over the weekend, said that the distribution of the medical consumables will be carried out by the high-level Squadron committee on COVID-19, under the chairmanship of his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja.

The governor who disclosed that sorting of medical materials ahead of distribution had commenced, urged the state commissioner for Health, Dr. Saka Haruna Audu to comply with his directive immediately.

He said that “this moment of trying period needs the cooperation of both government and citizens to strictly adhere to measures that will curtail further spread of the dreaded virus”

The Governor also appealed to the people of the state to obey the stay at home, frequent wash of their hands, use of sanitizer and distancing from each approaches that would help them from contracting the deadly disease.

Bello further urged the Media, Traditional Rulers and Community Leaders across the state not to relent in their sensitization and awareness creation about the danger of the Coronavirus pandemic and possible solutions to get over the menace.
