The Jos Herbal Trade 2020, at Polo, a herbalist, Alhaji Kabiru Quadri has called on the federal government to seriously consider integrating the many curative systems in the country with the aim of fostering an inclusive health sector in the country.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Herbal Trade Fair 2020, holding at the polo ground in Jos North Local Government in Plateau State, Doctor Quadri commended former president Obasanjo for assisting herbalists in the country to form an association and urged the government to support the association with decisive policies to enable them work with direction towards a healthy heath sector in the country.
Baba Kabiru who said he hails from Niger state by virtue of his paternity but by maternity from a Osun state, disclosed that he inherited the expertise from his late father in Bida LGA on Niger State, adding that, “father melt my mother who couldn’t bear children and gave her treatment. That is how then they got married and move to Lagos State. I grew up in it and my father was a very powerful man in the area herbs.”
He said: I advise that federal government of Nigeria should involve our herbal doctors in finding solutions to our local diseases here in Africa rather than looking for orthodox treatment outside the shore of Nigeria. We are calling on the world leaders to turn to the use of herbs treatment for diseases to achieve total success. I have a leaf when administered will eradicate the symptoms in a sick person.
Quadri enjoined the government to promote made in Nigeria products
He stressed that having spent almost 20 years in herbalism, his coming to Plateau state to participate in herbal trade fair has been eye-opening as many of the herbal treatment given to people have restore many to health.
He commended Governor Simon Lalong for his accommodative nature for promoting tourism, herbal treatment and prayed for his political success to higher grounds in Nigeria, possibly the next president of Nigeria.
