Inconclusive Poll: Commission Abandons Bauchi Governor.

By Ayo Kehinde

Few hours to the conduct of the inconclusive Poll in some ward’s for 24,000 voters in Bauchi State with the notable exception of the contentious Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, courtesy of a court ruling, the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Garba Sarki Mohammed Akiyan has thrown in his resignation due to what he called political developments.

Akiyan who tendered his resignation on Friday, March 22, said. ” I am compelled to resign my appointment in view of the recent developments and political realities of present day Bauchi State as well as dictates of the movement..”.

Akiyan, who once served as Commission for Rural Development before his elevation two and a half years ago, thanked governor Abubakar for retaining him for the period.

Investigation shows the political developments and realities Akiyan referred to may be connected with the harsh reality of defeat starring governor Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  in the face by the opposition People’s Democratic Party candidate and former Abuja Minister, Bala Mohammed and the political realignment in the state.
