Gov Hope Uzodinma of Imo state
Few hours after they held their first plenary under the new political dispensation in the state, courtesy of the Supreme Court verdict that removed Governor Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from office and declared Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the validly elected governor of Imo state, nine lawmakers including the Speaker have proved political pundits right by defecting to the ruling APC on Tuesday. Before Tuesday’s defection the political parties were represented thus: PDP, 13 seats; All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, 6 seats; Action Alliance, AA 8 seats, and APC none. So far three PDP, two APGA, and four AA have defected to the APC. More are expected to follow the footstep of the Speaker.
The new defectors are:
1) Nwangele LGA: Chyna IWUANYANWU PDP (SPEAKER) – APC
2) Ideato North LGA. Innocent Egwim AA – APC
3) Okigwe LGA: Chidem EMELUMBA PDP – APC
4) Nkwerre LGA : Obinna Okwara AA – APC
5) Onuimo LGA : Paul Emeziem APGA – APC
6) Orsu LGA : Ekene Nnodumele – APGA – APC
7) Ideato South LGA: Duru Johnson is AA – APC
8) Isu LGA: SN Obiefule AA – APC
9) Ohaji-Egbema LGA: Herculus Okoro PDP – APC
