I Want to Be Part of Abia Rescue Team in 2023, Says Nwoke

Hon Kalu Mba Nwoke has explained that he joined the opposition All Progressives Congress ,APC, to be part of the rescue team that will bring the desired change in Abia state in 2023.
The immediate past deputy leader of Ohafia legislative council stated this in an interview with newsmen after attending a stakeholders meeting of members of the party in the area, in Asaga Ohafia.
He said he left his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after realizing that it is full of those who have held the state and the people ransom behind other states for the past 21 years .
According to the former councillor representing Ohafor Ward 1(Asaga Ukwu), “In the words of Chief Author Eze, which I totally align myself with, Abia state is sinking and requires urgent attention.”
“I joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) because I want to be part of the rescue team that will bring the desired change we need in the state because it is obvious that the state in sinking,” he submitted.
Speaking about his political future, he said he intends to run for the chairmanship of the council anytime the election will be conducted, adding that his achievements in office as councillor will see him through.
Reminded that it has become a tradition in the country for the party in power to sweep the poll in local government election, he argued that his case will be different going by his acceptability across area.
“Yes, I know that has been the order of the day. But things are changing. Mine is going to be a test case for the people of the area. It will not be business as usual for the PDP in the election, I can assure you.”
He denied that the recent crisis that rocked the national leadership of the party will by any means affect its chances of winning the state and retaining power at the centre in the forthcoming general election.
Nwoke maintained that to the contrary, the party is becoming stronger, more focused, and gaining more popularity and members even in areas where it did not perform well in the last two general elections.
Speaking further, he appealed to the members of the party in the area to start gulvernising themselves for both the council and general elections, saying the battle, though it will be in their favour will not be easy.
He also commended the convener of the meeting, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, the chief executive officer of Nigeria Film Corporation and other members of the party “for turning out in large number for the important meeting”
