I Am Out To Liberate Kogi People From Poverty, Says PDP Gov Aspirant

As the race for who to occupy Lugard House heats up, another governorship aspirant on the platform of  the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the November election in Kogi state, Dr. Joseph Erico Ameh has vowed to rescue the state from the current abject poverty and underdevelopment as a result of the maladministration of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) if given the mandate.

The governorship hopeful who gave the assurance while unfolding his packages for the people during the ongoing Media Parley for aspirants  at the weekend, organized by Kogi NUJ, said the present none payment of salaries and percentage payment bedeviling the state civil service will immediately be addressed if he comes on board.

Dr. Ameh who is a security expert and an accomplished entrepreneur said that he will also give special attention in the fight against corruption and lack of basic infrastructure in Kogi state.

He said his adventure into politics is not for selfish reasons but based on his believe in the philosophy and ideology of “Do not ask what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”.

The aspirant  further promised that quality education, food security, youth and women empowerment as well as establishment of small scale industries in partnership with the organized private sector will be given a boost.

He also promised to accord traditional institutions as custodians of our culture their right space in the scheme of affairs saying that government will collaborate with them to ensure the security of lives and property of citizens across the state.

Dr. Ameh assured that he will as well  ensure the provision of potable water supply, rural electrification  and industrialization of the state down to the grassroots level if he becomes the governor.

” I am committed to making a difference in the governance of our dear state. Am not going to run a government of terror, but a humane, God fearing and responsive administration that will care for the overall well being of citizens ” he affirmed.
