Group Urges Ajimobi To Re-open LAUTECH

An Osun State based group, the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State has urged Oyo State Governor, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi to listen to the demands of students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, who recently staged a peaceful protest over the closure of the University for period of eight months.

Condemning what it called the indifference of the Osun State governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola and his Oyo State counterpart, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi, joint owners of the institution, the group demanded for the immediate re-opening of the institution to enable the students who have been at home for the past eight months, resume learning.
In a statement issued and signed by the group’s Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, it said the closure of the university was illegal and urged the two state governments to re-open the institution in the interest and future of the students.
It saluted the courage of the students for setting out to fight for their rights and future, but advised them to be law abiding in the cause of their agitation to press for their demands.
It urged the two governors of the owners’ state to show fairness and justice and re-open the institution immediately.
