National Association of Ohafia Students (NAOA), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), chapter and the V-Royal Group, have separately nominated Kalu Mba-Nwoke as the best performing councillor in Abia State.
Mba-Nwoke, who is a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state is the deputy leader and coucillor representing Ohafor Ward 1 in Ohafia Legislative Council.
The two youth organizations announced this after inspecting projects executed by Mba-Nwoke valued at over N7million and assessing his humanitarian and empowerment programmes in the constituency.
Speaking to our correspondent after conducting members of the organizations around the projects which include compound halls, village square sit-outs, and a culvert, he expressed surprise that their members had sported his efforts.
“It may as well interest you to know that I have also introduced both free farm shuttle bus service and water supply with a water tanker on select days of the week,” the councillor said.
The leader, who said the awards would spur him to aspire to deliver more democracy dividends, added that he had dedicated the awards to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for pioneering such attitude in the state.
Similarly, the president of the association, Mr. Sylvester Eme commended the councillor for his leadership qualities, saying Mba-Nwoke had written his name with gold in the hearts of his constituents.
“Without mincing words, I make bold to say he has given the ward which is a Asaga Ohafia community a new aesthetic look and proved that youth have vision for the development of the country ,” he said.
In his contribution, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the group, Mr. Victor Ikoro, who is also a movie producer, said they were impressed with the numerous achievements of the councillor.
“Accordingly, we have resolved to adopt and support him for a second term or any other office of his choice for greater and wider delivery of democracy dividends,” said the accountancy graduate.
