A Civil rights activist, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari for clearing  of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir Lawal and acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC),    Mr. Ibrahim Magu of corruption allegation with little regard for what with what he considers heap of incriminating evidences against the duo

He applauded the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator (Comrade) Shehu Sanni “ for exposing the corrupt practices of the SGF as it affects Nigerians living in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in the war ravaging North Eastern part of the
Country.”

Comrade Sulaiman who is the Executive Chairman, Centre for Human
Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), said in a statement, yesterday faulted the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN , for not publicizing the findings of his committee that investigated the allegations of corruption and abuse of office  leveled against the duo, insisting that the allegations of corrupt practice  and abuse of office leveled against Magu and Lawal were weighty enough to be made public before any clearance given.

Sulaiman who doubles as the Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS), urged the National Assembly, to stand by its call for the removal from office
and prosecution of  Lawal for awarding contract to a firm where he was a Director in the  humanitarian crisis in the North-East and reject the confirmation of Mr. Magu as substantive Chairman of the EFCC.

He maintained that Magu and Lawal had contravened the section 15(5) of the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which forbid public officials from using their office for personal benefit and gratification.
