FG To Close Schools During Elections

The Federal Ministry of Education has made preparations for mid-term break for all schools and colleges in the country during the elections taking place on February 16 and March 2 2019.

At the meeting of stakeholders with officials of the Ministry, Monday in Abuja, it was agreed that two “half term breaks” should be drawn up to cover both the presidential, national assembly and governorship and Houses of Assembly elections.

Accordingly, the first break would take place on February 13 to 18 after which classes would resume on February 19 with boarders expected to arrive school on Sunday, February 18.

The second “half term break” would take place on February 28 to March 4. Classes would resume on Tuesday, March 5 with boarders expected to resume on the evening of March 4.
