The former Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Selcap Dalung has described as “mathematical calculator”, the Supreme Court verdict which removed Governor Emeka Ihedioha from office as elected governor of Imo state and enthroned his APC rival, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

He said any politician that declare himself or herself as winners of the February/March 2019 elections would bring curses and divine punishment on themselves.

In an interview with journalists during a courtesy visit to former governor Jonah Jang, Dalung said,” it is unfair to give the ruling All Progressives Congress Party undeserved victory in some states that they lost elections.

According to him, the Nigerian judiciary will be promoting injustice by giving victory to a party that lost elections at the polls.

Dalung particularly queried what he described as ‘the arithmetic’ recently used by the Supreme Court to qualify APC as winner of Imo State governorship elections. He said he was yet to come to terms with how a candidate who came forth, (Hope Uzodinma) in the election suddenly emerged governor of the state.

“That same calculator must be used in Kano, Bauchi, Plateau and anywhere elections were canceled for there to be justice”

“If the calculator stops in Imo, then there is no truth in it.

Dalung, the President Muhammadu Buhari diehard supporter said no one should be deprived of his rightful elections in a true democracy.

“I always say it, where we didn’t win elections, give it to the rightful winner. That is justice.”

“If you didn’t win an election and you still stand to swear with the Bible…No that is wrong…,” said the Minister with a shrug of his shoulders.
