As Lalong Commends Police For Restoring Peace in the state

The former Rep member representing Barkin Ladi, Riyom  Federal Constituency of Plateau state, Hon Simon Mwadkwon has accused the Governor Simon Lalong  administration for poor handling  of the deplorable and insanitary conditions of Internally Displaced Persons  from Riyom and Barkinladi councils .

The communities were displaced and relocated following an attack by herders over two months ago.

Mwadkwon lamented that the two standing committees set up by Governor Lalong for the relocation of the internally displaced persons in  Riyom and Barkinladi federal constituency back to their ancestral homes  have stopped working leaving the displaced people beg to eat while sleeping on the grounds under the present harsh weather .

However, the former Member who the current candidate for the 2019 says ,”we  are not aware  of their existence of the standing committees, they only existing in papers and on the radio in the state.

Mwadkwon who is  the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives for  Riyom/ Barkinladi federal constituency in 2019 elections in the state, raised the alarm that it was all part of the state government’s pre-election antics to prevent his constituents to return home before the 2019 general elections in February 2019.

According to him, “the atmosphere in the state  is becoming  politically charged in day out  following the day light  robbery  of the votes  of the electorates by the state government in the just concluded local government elections which by the declared the results were hijacked by PLASIEC and agents of the government.

” Governor Lalong should squander the good will of the people of his state upon which he rode to power in 2015 from no where as he was not originally the one that  was the peoples choice on the Plateau.

He called on his party faithfuls not to allow themselves to be provoked over the madness that is ongoing in the state and work round the clock to win the state in all round in the 2019 general elections, saying the days of APC government in the state are numbered.

Meanwhile, Lalong has commended the Nigerian Police for their immense contribution and support to return of relative peace in the state.

Gov Lalong stated this while receiving the certificate for the establishment of a Police Mobile squadron unit in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to a statement by Commissioner of Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, the presentation was done by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who was represented by the DIG Operations, Habila Joshak, at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.

The IGP assured Gov Lalong that the Nigeria Police would continue to protect and safeguard the life and property of every Nigerians.

According to Dati,” Gov Lalong had earlier made a request for the establishment of the Police Mobile barracks at Gashish to forestall further attacks, during the visit of President Mohammadu Buhari and the IGP to Plateau state, after incessant attacks in the area”.
