… APC Postpones Primary in Jos North Over materials

Former Comptroller General of Customs, David Paradang has emerged the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the just concluded Senatorial Primaries for the Plateau Central Senatorial District. This district was until recently represented by ex-Governor Joshua Dariye, who is presently collong his heels in prison on guilt of proven theft charges, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. He even picked the party’s nomination form from prison to contest the 2019 election again.

The Primaries held Tuesday at Vel Sun Set Hotel in Pankshin local government of Plateau State under the supervision of the Chairman of the electoral panel, Engr. Iliya Mohammed who announced David Paradang victory, having scored scored 422 votes to beat his closet rival Istifanus Mwamsat who scored 78 votes.

Other contenders in the race were the former PDP Chairman in plateau state,  Professor Dakum Shown who scored 45 votes while others such as Senator Sati Gogwim scored  60, votes, Nde Alexander

Molwus scored 44 and Salama Dauda got 15 votes

In his acceptance speech, Paradang commended the delegates, party supporters and the leadership for the confidence reposed in him by given the opportunity to flag the flag of the party for senatorial ticket for the 2018 general elections.

He promised to carry along all aspirants who contested with him, saying the journey ahead calls for closer collaboration by party faithful to enable them deliver his candidature in the polls. PDP and displace APC in the forth coming be elections

In another development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the Plateau North Senatorial District primary election due to none unavailability of electoral materials.

Admin Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Godwin Juwul made the confirmation when speaks with our correspondence in Tuesday. He said the state chapter was still awaiting arrival of materials from the party’s headquarters in Abuja.

Four aspirants are jostling to get the Plateau North Senatorial District ticket under the party.

The aspirants included, immediate past Secretary to Plateau State Government, (SSG), Rufus Bature, member representing Jos South/Jos East at the National Assembly, Edward Pwajok, a businessman, Pam Yakubu and member of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Lumumba Dah Adeh.

Plateau North Senatorial District has six local government areas of Jos North, Jos South, Jos East, Riyom, Barikin Ladi and Bassa.
