Kevin de Bruyne Fires home the winner for Man City

Chelsea vs Manchester City: The defending champion could not repeat their earlier performance by being the only side to beat Manchester City home and away in the last season, even in Stamford Bridge. Shockingly it was a goal from an ex-Chelsea player Kevin de Bruyne in the 67th minute that separated the two sides, sending Man City to the top position it started occupying since last week.

Chelsea goal poacher Alvaro Morata limped off with an injury in the first half. It made no difference and Jesus goal bound shot would have increased the tally had it not been headed off the line by Antonio Rudiger.

Bruyne tells BBC:  “I feel very happy. We produced a good performance. We knew it would be tactical very difficult. They are one of the best teams on the counter attack. The way we played was very positive.

“We had a little bit of a plan not to get caught by Eden and Willian because they are dangerous, that’s why we played like a 3-4-3 and we managed to do it very well.

“The spirit is very good. I think it was after a game in pre-season that Pep said we need to get the mentality to hate to lose. This year we try to do that and win the points in the big games. It can change very quickly but we ha a good spell in September and try to do the same when we come back after the international break.”

Man U two -goal scorer Fellani on target with his trade mark header

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace:  This game was the most predictable in today’s local derby as Crystal Palace have lost all seven Premier League games this season without scoring. The only uncertainty was the number of goals Man U would put in the net and they did so splendidly in their usual manner of 4-0 through a Juan Mata’s three minute goal from 10 yards pull out from Marcus Rashford, a volley and header from Marouane Fellaini and a Romelu Lukaku late fourth – his 11th goal in 10 United games – by converting Anthony Martial’s cross from close range.

Richarlison 95th min goal gave the late equaliser to Watford

West Brom Vs Watford: An injury time equaliser, almost at the last whistle, from Richarlison gave Watford a deserved point after they trailed the host West Bromwich Albion from two goals. The home team had led through an 18 min goal from Rondon and Evans in the 21st min.  Richarlison 95min header capped the earlier goal in the 37 min by Doucoure. The result means Watford maintain their unbeaten record on the road this season.

Huddersfield vs Tottenham: Two goals from Spurs super striker, Harry Kane, one apiece from Ben Davies and Sisouko made it 4-0 at Huddersfield.

Stoke vs Southampton:  Mame Biram Diouf’s header put the hosts but Southampton equalised through Maya Yoshida but Crouch came off the bench to secure the three points. Leicester played goalless with Bournemouth.

West Ham vs Swansea City:  Diafra Sakho’s late goal saved West Ham from the bottom three in the table. Swansea were positive with their approach but a long-range effort from Wilfried Bony, parried by Joe Hart, in the first half was the best they had to show for their endeavour.

PSG vs Bordeaux: Paris St-Germain (PSG) humiliated Bordeaux 6-2 in the French Ligue 1 to stay three points ahead of champions, Monaco who drew 1-1 with Montpellier at the weekend With two goals from Neymar, one each from Edison Cavani, Thomas Meaner, Julian Draxier and Kylian Mbappe, PSG made it hard for the visitors to see the ball though  Younousse Sankhare  and a Jonathan Cafu’s late consolation penalty made reduced the tally by 2 for Bordeaux.
