COVID-19 Update: Nigeria Has 171 Confirmed Cases Now, Says NCDC

… 22 New Cases Confirmed in Osun, 2 in Edo, and Ondo, One in Ekiti, 5 in Akwa Ibom

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to 151 from the 137 it was as at 12 noon on Wednesday.

Making this announcement in Abuja on Wednesday, the National Center for Disease Control, NCDC, said that 23 news cases have been confirmed bringing the total number to 151 in Nigeria. Out of the 12 new cases, nine were from Osun state, two each from Edo and Ondo states, one in Ekiti state and 5 in Akwa Ibom.

Lagos still has the largest number of cases with 82 confirmed infections, followed by the FCT with 28 cases. Osun has risen to 22 while Edo and Ogun now have four each.

Lagos however announced recently that nine cases have so far been cure and discharged, including the index, Italian case.

Commissioner of Health, Prof Akin Abayomi said the state has 100 per cent survival rate with 8 discharged and the rest looking like people who will live.
