The Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau state has granted interim injunction restraining the recently sworn-in Local Government Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from parading themselves as officials of the party until the determination of the substantive suit.
The affected LGAs include Bokkos, Mangu,Kanke, Jos East, Jos South, Riyom, Lantang North, Lantang South, Barkin Ladi, Pankshin, Shendam, Basa and Mikang.
The Respondents on the suit include the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, PDP state chapter, PDP NEC, and security agencies and Prof. Maxwell Gidado chairman local government congresses committee.
The Court granted the interim injunction on Friday over the illegal conduct wards congresses chairmanship elections by the Professor Maxwell Gidado Congress Committee.
Information available to this medium reveals that the exercise was marred by irregularities and alleged doctoring of the list of delegates. It was disclose that the aggrieved party supporters led by Dr Jacob Dashe approach the court for resolution of their grievances.
The court have adjourned to 30th,June 2020 for hearing.
