The 58th minute Barca goal resulted from a goal melee created by a powerful shot from Luis Suarez, which Varane could not properly clear off, leaving a lurking Malcom to put it pass Ramos and Navas into the net. Messi presence in the 60th minutes onward could not dent the resolve of the visitors who put every stop to his lightening works in combination with Suarez. He was even brought down which could only attract boos from the fans.
