Celebrity Pencil Artist Unveil Project To Honor 10 Kings

As part of activities to honor 10 kings in the country under the project titled ‘Celebrating 10 Kings’, Nigeria’s leading pencil artist- Alesh Akeem, has kicked off the mission with a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Abideen Adekanbi Durosimi- The Osolu of Irewe.

The visit is to thank Oba Durosimi the paramount ruler of Irewe Kingdom, located at Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State for his contribution to the growth of youths at various levels in the 37 communities in his domain.

Alesh Akeem while speaking on the significance of the project said; “I think it’s high time we started celebrating our kings and give them the recognition they deserve because they do a lot in developing and keeping our society in order.

“This is the first kind of government we knew even before democracy; so the penetration of the western forms of government shouldn’t make us forget our origin.

“They are the custodians of our culture and they are the ones who have taken it upon themselves to make sure our heritage is transferred from one generation to another. This is why I and my team came up with this project to honor these icons of history and heritage.” He added.

The Pencil Artist also said that life-size hyper-realistic portraits would be made in respect of this project, exhibited, and presented to the selected kings.

The 10 King’s Project which is billed to run from July through September is an initiative of Alesh Akeem and his management, aimed at celebrating and recognizing 10 kings for excellence.

His managers say other kings on the list of awardees would be revealed as events unfold.
