Cattle Ranching Plot: Ponzi Raises The Alarm In Plateau State

Despite official denial by the Commissioner of Information, Yakubu Dati, villagers and traditional ruler of about 100 Tarok villages in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State have expressed fear that the state government is planning to convert their land for cattle ranching.

The Ponzhi Kadarko, HRH,  Ponzhi Lot Nden confirmed to our correspondent on phone on Saturday that there is an ongoing mapping of 100 villages under his district, expressing suspicion behind the scheme .

He alerted the international organizations on the scheme which he fears would uproot his subjects and kinsmen and breach the peace of the area.

Eyes witnesses said they sighted heavy influxes of suspected herdsmen heading, dressed in army camouflage riding on motorbikes towards Wase villages.

Investigation shows that Kadarko, the District Headquarters of the Tarok people was been earmarked by a military team which surveyed the land for demarcation to restrict the movements of suspected gunmen from moving forward.

The affected villages include; Having ,Nwurmat, Tonga, Taknalam, Pede, Langtong , Takchang. Magarya,Jawondo, Magarya, Dam shanya, Dam Labare, Dam kurmi, Karamin Dam, Dam gigiya, Baking kaya Suku, Nzam Igesar, Mala Yargam, Guiwan kogi Pinau, Taktim, Takjul, Nbamtak, Bwarat and  Kurmi  .

Lot called for overhaul of the security apparatus before damage is done to his people of Wase villages because magnitude of offensive plan to unleash terrors against them will, as usual, be well coordinated attack to uproot Christian settlements. He implored all the Christian living in Wase to assist the security agencies and other agencies of the federal and,state government to expose the insurgents.
