Late Pastor Andima
Kidnapped pastor of Church of The Brethren in Michika, Adamawa state, Reverend Lawan Andima is dead.
He was killed by the Boko Haram terrorists, on Monday, three week after they invaded the town and abducted him at 7 p:m on January 2, 2020.
Confirming his gruesome murder by the terror gang, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Tuesday said Andima was beheaded on Monday night along with a soldier.
The Special Adviser to CAN President, Bayo Oladeji, reportedly said it is sad but true.
He said “We are working on our response”.
The Adamawa state Chairman of CAN, Dami Mamza also confirmed the incident.
Andami, 58, was a father of nine children was the Local Council Chapter Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika Local Government.
Before he was beheaded, the Boko Haram terrorist had demanded a ransom of N946 million equivalent of E2 million pounds, but the local church could only raise N50 million, which the terrorists rejected.
In one of the video appearances before his death, Andami had pleaded with his captors to show mercy and equally left his fate in the hand of God, stating that there was nothing he could do about his death if the terrorists were determined to carry out their threat.
