Barca Wins Copa del Rey for Fourth Straight Time

Coutinho scores the fifith and final goal, a penalty

Luiz Suarez 14th min, 4th min, Messi 31st min, Andres Iniesta 52nd min, Coutinho Correia 69th min penalty sealed Sevilla’s fate in the only remaining contest they had hoped to win a trophy for the season. They crashed out of the UEFA Champions league at the quarter final and are fifth in La Liga table.

Barcelona however made history by winning the Spanish Super Cup for the fourth consecutive year and has won seven of their eight finals against Sevilla – including a 2-0 win in extra time in the Copa del Rey final two years ago. Their only defeat was in the 2006 Uefa Super Cup final, a 3-0 win for the Seville side in Monaco.

This victory at the Wanda Metropolitano  stadium in Athletico is Barcelona’s 30th Spanish Cup.
