Atiku’s Campaign Tour: Ex- Senate President Ayu Committee Reconciles Aggrieved Members 

President of the Senate and Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, and the National Woman Leader of the PDP, Hajiya Mariya Waziri, during the party’s National Women Conference in Abuja yesterday.

A three- man Committee has visited Jos the Plateau State Capital ahead of Presidential Campaign of Atiku Abubakar to the state to reconcile aggrieved party members.

The team which was led by the trio of ex- Senate President, Professor Iorchia Ayu, former Governor of Niger state, Dr Babangida Aliyu and former Governor of Kogi state, Capt Idris Wada came with a mission to find ways of ending the internal crises rocking the Plateau state chapter since the primaries.

Those present at the reconciliation meeting  included Sen Jonah David Jang, Ambassador Fidelis Tapgun, Comrade Kemi Nshe, Samuel Nanchang, ex-Speaker Gorge Daika, Hon Johnbull Shakarau and others PDP faithfuls.

The committee, which held a closed door meeting at the party secretariat on Friday to reconcile them members who contested under the platform of PDP and lost during the primaries, said the meeting was fruitful as every one present bared his or her mind in a corporative atmosphere, which made reconciliation easy.

Stating that the national leadership asked them to come to Plateau state chapter and look into the problem to access the situation and find solution to it, Ayu said the delegation received a warm welcome to Jos by the state chairman Damishi Sango, Jang, former Senate Deputy President, Sen Ibrahim Mantu Tapgun ,and governorship candidate of the party,Sen Jeremiah Timbut Useni .

Ayu explained further that, “everyone spoke their minds on their readiness to work for the victory of the party, so we all agree to put aside our differences to work together under the able leadership of Damishi Sango .

He disclosed that all those aggrieved PDP members have accepted to work toward deepening the PDP family and tenets of democracy across the 17 local government areas to make sure PDP win the state.

Ayu said they have agreed to mobilize supporters towards Saturday’s coming of the presidential train of the party’s candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, “ to ensure PDP win the governorship, senators and House of Assembly and Reps seat in the forthcoming general election.”

He noted the overwhelming support given the party during the flag- off campaign at Mangu is a clear demonstration that the party was speaking with one voice now.

Dr Babangida Aliyu expressed confidence that the party is prepared to clinch the 2019 general election.
