APC Will Replicate Buhari’s Anti-corruption War in Abia, says Party Leader

Mr. Emenike

The All Progressives Congress (APC) will replicate President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign in Abia State if voted into power in the 2019 general election.

Leader of the party in the state, Chief Ikechi Emenike stated this at an interactive meeting with various groups in his political structure and stakeholders of Aba in the town.

His words, “This is in tandem with both the party and the president’s belief that if we don’t kill corruption in the country now, corruption will kill it sooner than we think.”

He said corruption and god fatherism had over the years eaten deep into the fabric of successive administrations in the state that they had been straining to survive.

He also said the campaign would restore sanity and the people’s confidence in government as well as provide the administration the resources to execute its programmes and projects.

“We will change the narrative. We will use the resources of the state for what there are meant. We will lay off the hands of fraudsters and godfathers from them,” he noted.

The economist/journalist argued that if properly harnessed and managed both the human and material resources in the state were enough to run its economy efficiently.

According to him, it is most appalling that the town with its huge resources and potentials in almost every sphere of human endeavour has neither a state nor federal university.

“For a start, we will convert the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba to a university of science and technology, while considering other institutions that will add value to the town,” he added.

Inaugurating the leaderships of the groups, which included Emenike Teenagers, Emenike Daughters, and Emenike Mothers, he charged the members to join the race to reposition the state.

Similarly, the Chairman of the party, Dr Emmanuel Ndukwe warned the members against disloyalty, saying the party’s bid to capture the Government House would not go unchallenged.
