Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA), Uchenna Okogbuo has predicted victory for Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano in the November 2017 governorship election in the state.

Okogbuo who stated this while speaking with newsmen at his country-home in Uzuakoli in Bende Local Government Area, argued that the governor had delivered on his campaign promises.

He said, “We are expecting a 99 percent vote for Obiano in that election because he is not only a committed governor, but has also become an acceptable leader. His people love him.”

According to him, one of the things going for Obiano is that he is building on solid foundations and structures laid and built by his predecessors in office for which the people are happy.

Okogbuo, who extolled both former Governors Chris Ngige and Peter Obi for identifying and addressing the major challenges facing the state, said their unity of purpose created consistency in the development of the state.

“Obiano is building on what they left behind on ground and the people are happy for that. The electorates are happy with him, expectedly, his reelection bid will be smooth,” he maintained

Describing the banker-turned governor as a very accessible person, he added that, “he is one governor who, if you present him with any good ideas he will accept and implement them for the good of the people.

He said the party was neither scared nor worried about the opposition because, “We know that the people are solidly behind him.  Ask them any time, any day, they will tell you Obiano is the man they know.”

Okogbuo dismissed suggestions that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) at the federal level could use the security agencies to hijack the election, saying he was sure the people would resist such move.
